A Fine goalkeeper before he retired, Jim Stewart is an ex-Ranger now back at the club teaching his trade to others.

In his playing days, he also spent time with Kilmarnock, St Mirren and English outfit Middlesbrough.

Stewart's efforts at club level earned him two caps for Scotland against Chile in 1977 and Norway two years after that.

Before then, he had gone to the 1974 World Cup in West Germany as the third-choice keeper in the squad but didn't feature.

Stewart went on to coach at Killie and saw his son Colin follow in his footsteps there as he also played between the posts for the Ayrshire club.

It was in August 2007 that Stewart returned to Gers in a coaching capacity from Hearts, replacing previous goalkeeping guru Billy Thomson.

Since then he has played an important role in developing the likes of Neil Alexander and Allan McGregor.

Stewart combines his Light Blues with a similar position within the Scotland set-up, something he has done now for several years.
