DaMarcus Lamont Beasley has made his impact throughout Europe and the USA by operating as a left winger and striker. Beasley first made his impact in 1999 at the under 17 World winning the silver ball which was awarded to the second best player. After being traded to LA Galaxy he signed for Chicago Fire after not playing a game for the Galaxy. He made his mark however and after four seasons got a move to Dutch Giants PSV for $2.5 million dollars. The next two seasons saw Beasley win three cups in Holland but despite this he found his way on loan the Manchester City in 2006. After completing his stay at Eastlands Beasley returned to PSV briefly.
With PSV willing to let him go, Rangers made a £700,000 offer for the American winger. This was accepted and on the 27th June 2007 he signed for Rangers. Beasley made his Rangers debut against Inverness on August 4th 2007 and bagged a debut European goal against Zeta in the champions league Qualifying 2nd round. Beasley continued his impressive start to the season with a first SPL goal against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in August. Beasley scored another two goals in the coming months with strikes at Tynecastle against Hearts and at the Stade Gerland during Rangers famous European victory away to Lyon. After his great start Beasley was making the left wing his own however a career threatening injury occured during Rangers visit to the Mercedes Benz Arena against Stuttgart were Beasley tore his cruciate ligaments. Beasley did battle back from this and made his return against St Mirren in May 2008 before scoring an important goal on his birthday against Queen Of the South to win the Scottish Cup.
2009/2010 Season
Beasley got his first start in the cup away to Dundee although he pretty anonymous. He wasn't thought about but he came on in the 2-1 win against St. Mirren and changed the game at Falkirk. He was rewarded with a start against Sevilla although he was subbed at half time. He earned his first start of the season at home to St. Johnstone and put in a man of the match performance so he was rewarded with back to back appearances, the first time he'd done that since 2008. In the match at Dundee United, he scored a contender for goal of the season and was one of many players who were great on the night. If he keeps this form up he will be first pick for America at the World Cup and earn himself a new contract. He didn't keep his form up because, predictably, of injuries. He was supposed to be back for the Celtic game one week after Hibs away but one week came, then two weeks, and three and four and he finally made an appearance in the fifth! He wasn't given much of a look-in after that and he announced via Twitter that he will be departing Ibrox in the summer.
